28 ELM ST. Circa 1800 Daniel Abbott House, Federal style Owner: Free Christian Church Contractor: Ted's Construction, T.J. Kosiavelon Built sometime between 1828 and 1830, 28 Elm St. is one of only a few early 19th century Federal-period homes along this section of Elm Street. Free Christian Church, which acquired it for office space in 2004, worked with the Preservation Commission to add appropriately styled replacement windows and changed earlier nonconforming upper-story gable end window additions to match the existing rectangular fenestration, allowing it to remain a fine example of Federal period architecture well suited for the 21st century.
