Mini Mates synchronized skating team members Leah Gens from Andover and Aislinn Anthony from North Andover will skate in the annual Holiday Ice Show at Hayden Recreation Centre in Lexington from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19.
The Mini Mates won a bronze medal Dec. 11 at the 15th annual Cape Cod Classic hosted by the Bourne Skating Club.
The team, entering its third season, is made up of 18 skaters under age 13 from the Andovers, Lexington, Winchester, Concord, Dover, Needham and Stoneham.
The Mini Mates, wearing bright pink and skating a program to "The Flintstones" theme song choreographed by Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams director of skating and head coach Saga Krantz, competed against teams from Fairfax, Va.; Bourne, Mass.; Cromwell, Conn.; New York City; Essex, N.J.; Philadelphia and Boston in the US Figure Skating Juvenile division. The team will perform its competition program Saturday at Hayden.
