Cabaret, wine and beer night by ACT

In a time when arts budgets are becoming slimmer and slimmer, ACT Andover members say they are always striving to provide an outlet for performers of all ages and abilities. Because ticket sales alone do not cover the cost of the big stage musicals, the 501(c)(3) group has to raise funds from other sources.

So, next Friday night, Nov. 2, 2012, ACT Andover is hosting a Wine Tasting, Cabaret and Auction at the Elks Lodge on River Road in Lawrence.

The evening will include an Italian wine tasting, hosted by The Vineyard of North Andover, foods from fantastic local vendors, including Two Chefs are Better than One Catering, Cookie Central, Scovotti’s Cooking & Confections, and The Chocolate Truffle. Sam Adams Brewery has donated beer for sampling as well.

ACT will also have cabaret performance throughout the evening from some of its ACT adult and ACT Jr. members.

While sipping a special wine or trying the latest larger, guests will have the opportunity to bid on items that have been donated by local businesses, companies and community members, including from acting classes with ACT’s artistic director, Charles Gracy.

The two signature raffle prizes up for grabs at the event are a walk-on roll to be part of an future ACT musical and a seven-day Caribbean resort vacation.
