Boston Black Catholic Choir lifted the spirit of Andover listeners this past weekend.
The choir, which has traveled nationally and internationally over their 20-year ministry, performed last Sunday, Jan. 13, at Memorial Hall Library in the downtown.
The choir has performed at churches, prisons, shelters and other venues throughout the Boston area. It celebrated their 20th anniversary this year and performs musical arrangements composed by W. Clifford Petty, a gospel composer and recording artist from Alabama. The 45-member choir has performed in Italy - once for Pope John Paul II, according to their website. The choir also went on a performance tour of Ireland in 2008.
