The Merrimack Valley Philharmonic will perform its Family Holiday Concert while hosting its 12th annual Holiday Silent Auction on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2:30 p.m. at the Rogers Center for the Arts at Merrimack College, 315 Turnpike St. (Route 114) in North Andover.
The Holiday Concert this year will feature the Merrimack Valley Ringers under the direction of Karen Leonard, who is past national president of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (now known as Handbell Musicians of America). She is minister of music at West Chelmsford United Methodist Church, where she directs a graded choral and handbell program of six choirs, along with serving as organist.
The concert will also showcase trumpet soloist Brendan McGuirk, a junior at Timberlane Regional High School who will be performing Concerto for Trumpet in E Flat Major with the orchestra.
Doors will open at 1 p.m. for the orchestra’s 12th annual Silent Auction. The auction will be held through intermission and winners will be announced during the concert. Many artisans and businesses donate their time, talents, products and services to support the arts in the Merrimack Valley. Auction items may be paid for by cash or check only on the day of the concert.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and $5 for children ages 4 to 12. They are available at the door or online at www.mvpomusic.org or www.MKtix.com/mvpo.
