Grill Night highlights summer fun at senior center

Andover residents are invited to five special nights by the grills at the Andover Senior Center.

Grill nights will be held Wednesday evenings, June 27, July 11 and 25, and Aug. 8 and 29; from 5 to 7 p.m. each evening. Advance reservations are required.

The menu will include hot dogs, grilled chicken and burgers each night, along with weekly specials such as steak tips, grilled shrimp or salmon. Entré©e prices range from $4.50 to $9 and include side dishes, dessert and beverages. The Andover Senior Center, located at 30 Whittier Court, on the first floor of the School Administration Building, is normally open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is required for all events, which are open to community, pending space. Other upcoming summer events include:

TECH TALK: Say hello to your cell phone on Monday, June 25 at 1:30 p.m. For $3, learn the basics and features beyond the telephone call such as how to set ringtones, and take photos.

ART INSTRUCTIONAL: PAINTING: On Mondays, from July 2 through Aug. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. each day, join a six-week course for $42. Work in watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and oil paint using a variety of subject matters including still life, interior/exterior landscapes, self-portraits and painting from photographs. Beginner to advanced levels, led by instructor Georgia Renfroe of the Essex Art Center.

HEALTHY EATING FOR ONE: On Friday, July 13 at 10 a.m. join a free event. Victor Casado, lead chef at Methuen Village Assisted Living, will provide recipes for simple, quick and healthy meals, great for summer time. Samples of the recipes will be served.

OUTDOOR GROUP ACTIVITIES: Men and women's guided hikes, bird migration hikes, walking and golfing groups.
