Out & About: Shopping bonanza at Giant Yard Sale

The Andover Department of Community Services hosts one of its popular community-wide yard sales in The Park on Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The sale will feature more than 120 participants displaying their wares on tables, blankets and more all across The Park at Chestnut and Bartlet streets.

The event offers a chance to support the planet by turning someone’s unwanted objects into newfound treasures. Participants pay $10 for their 10-by-10-foot spots, with proceeds benefiting DCS.

Admission to the public is free. For more information, call 978-623-8279 or stop by the DCS office at 36 Bartlet St.

Village Garden Club digging up annual plant sale

The Village Garden Club of Andover presents its annual plant sale on Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to noon, at 170 Elm St., Andover.

Guests will have time to stroll through a lovely garden for inspiration before choosing from a wide selection of perennials and potted plants from club members’ gardens. Members will be available to answer gardening questions as well.

Proceeds from the plant sale will support the Village Garden Club’s civic beautification projects. The sale goes off rain or shine; severe weather only will postpone it one day, until Sunday at the same time or place.
