Holiday shopping, music at the library

The Friends of Memorial Hall Library will host a special holiday fundraising event featuring a holiday book sale and silhouette artist. Visit the library on Dec. 1 to finish your holiday shopping in one day.

The Friends’ Holiday Book Sale will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The book sale will feature great gift ideas including exceptional children’s books, like-new fiction and non-fiction, book sets, and other unique items. There will be no preview for this special sale, so arrive early for the best selection.

Memorial Hall Library welcomes back silhouette artist Jean Comerford on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A professional silhouette artist, Jean Comerford of Portraits in Silhouette will create a custom silhouette by looking and cutting. She does not use shadows or tracing to create a lasting memory for your family. The process takes under 10 minutes per silhouette. Prices are $30 per silhouette, $15 per copy, and $29 to $39 for frames.

Space is limited. To schedule an appointment, contact Emily Classon at 978-623-8401, ext. 49 or eclasson@mhl.org. Non-refundable prepayment of initial sitting fee is required upon reservation. Drop-in appointments may be available on Dec. 1. Visit the library’s web site at mhl.org for more information. To learn more about Jean Comerford, visit portraitsinsilhouette.com.

The book sale and silhouette program are fundraisers for the Friends of Memorial Hall Library. For more information about the Friends, visit mhl.org/friends.
