Cash in on Gold Rush Oct. 22
Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society will hold its annual fund raiser on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church at 71 Chandler Road in Andover. It's hoping people will bring more jewelry than they can wear.
The idea of the event, dubbed Gold Rush 2009, is for people to bring their old or broken gold or silver jewelry and sell it to a reputable company. People also could use that money to begin their Christmas shopping at the 16 vendors that will be on hand, say organizers. The vendors include Silpada Jewelry, Lia Sophia Jewelry, Teddy Bear Beginnings, Pampered Chef, Southern Living, Jafra Cosmetics, Tupperware, Tastefully Simple, Creations by Pauline, Belts and Accessories by Laura Devaney Designs, Barefoot Books for Children, Swarovski Crystal Jewelry, The Fashion Bug, Eurowholefoods, Silver Pouch & Linda's Personalizations.
Dessert and coffee will be served. Admission is $5. For ticket information, call Olga Pithis at 978-664-1126. All proceeds benefit local and national charitable organizations, the organizers said.
