Andover actress part of dual detective drama

Dalton a resident of City of Angels

Andover resident Kathleen Dalton is among the cast of Theatre III's production of "City of Angels," opening this Friday, Nov. 6 in West Acton.

"If you like noir detective mystery, close-harmony jazz, femmes fatale, witty dialogue, decadent Hollywood and great voices, then you will love City of Angels," according to Theatre III.

Performance dates are Nov. 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. For tickets, visit theatre3.org or call 978-263-9070. Theatre III is located at 250 Central St. in West Acton.

"City of Angels" centers around Stine, an author who is preparing a screenplay of his popular novel and his fictional character Stone, a hard-boiled private investigator. The musical weaves back and forth between Stine's real life in color and the movie scenes in black and white. Most of the actors play dual roles as characters both in Stine's life and in the movie, making this musical a real acting challenge. Throw a radio crooner, a jazz quartet, two thugs and an iron lung into the mix you have the evening's entertainment.

"City of Angels" is directed by Tom Wachtell with music direction by Cindi Silverman and Susie Allen and choreography by Christine Campbell.
