This weekend
During the second weekend in December, Northern Essex Community College will present its 10th annual production of Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol."
The production features NECC students, faculty and staff as well as members of the community. Cast members include Andover resident Ryan Jennings playing old Joe and Dick Wilkins.
The performance will be held in the newly renamed Chester W. Hawrylciw Theater on the third floor of the Spurk Building on the Haverhill campus, 100 Elliott St., Friday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 12, at 3 and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m.
The performance is directed by NECC theater professor Jim Murphy, who also plays Scrooge. Musical direction is by NECC professor Alisa Bucchierre and set design is by NECC professor Susan Sanders. Two local families will be well represented. Colin Budzyna of Newburyport, his little sister Maggie, and their father John will perform as well as Rory Luddy of Haverhill and siblings Morgan and Rachael Gunning.
Ticket prices are $10 for general admission, $8 for students and seniors, and $6 for 6 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at MVArts.info. For more information, call Susan Sanders at 978-556-3374.
