7 twirling with New England Civic
New England Civic Ballet toes up its annual performances of Tchaikovsky’s holiday classic “The Nutcracker” this weekend at the Rogers Center for the Performing Arts at Merrimack College in North Andover.
The production includes seven Andover dancers: Kate Beaver, Riley Griffin, Elaina Ventre, Julia Jennings, Emily Bartner, Jessica Liao and Louise Steenbergen. It is being directed by Phyllis George and Roshni Pecora.
Performances are Friday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2 and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for children ages 12 and under and seniors ages 55 and older. Local leaping with Northeast Youth
Jillian Germano of Andover is among the cast of Northeast Youth Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker” on stage this Friday through Sunday at the J. Everett Collins Center at Andover High School, 80 Shawsheen Road.
The production choreographed by artistic director Denise Cecere features more than 125 auditioned dancers from Greater Boston, along with international guest artists hailing from Australia, Columbia, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and New York.

Return of Dance Prism tradition
Dance Prism brings its 31st season of “The Nutcracker” to the J. Everett Collins Center at Andover High School, 80 Shawsheen Road, next weekend.
The cast of 140 includes the touring company’s professional dancers and apprentices as well as aspiring ballet students drawn from statewide open auditions, all under the artistic direction of founding member Mary Demaso together with Scott Ranagan.
Young audience members are invited to meet Clara plus the Nutcracker Prince, Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier following all performances.
