Funk/soul group The Get Backs will bring their '60s-inspired energy to the third annual Winter Blues Festival on Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. at the Blue Ocean Music Hall, 4 Oceanfront North, Salisbury.
The Get Backs core collaborators consist of internationally known vocalist UB Bigg (aka Brian Templeton), and a youthful rhythm section of "sidemen to the stars" of rhythm-and-blues and roots music.
Guitarist Matthew Stubbs (guitarist with Charlie Musselwhite and Janiva Magness), bassist Marc Hickox (Eddie Floyd) and drummer Chris Rivelli (Duke Robillard, Roomful of Blues), provide the rhythm track alongside an all-star horn section that has included saxophonists Sax Gordon (Solomon Burke, Kim Wilson), Scott Shetler (Mighty Sam McClain, Johnny Adams), and trumpeter Johnny "Bluehorn" Moriconi.
Also appearing at the festival are Mr. Nick and The Dirty Tricks, Lydia Warren, and The Ten Foot Pole Cats.
