Free Wednesday shows continue at bandstand

Andover's weekly concerts in the Park continues on Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. with a concert by Category 3 which is billed as "playing songs of The Beatles to Weezer for rockers of all ages."

This trio of local musicians features lead guitarist Bob Montbleau, bass and vocals with John Witkos and drummer Garon Kachanian. Category 3.

"This powerful act will have you singing and dancing to all your rock favorites including Some Kind of Wonderful, I Saw Her Standing There, and American Girl," says the Andover Department of Community Services, which sponsors the concerts in the Park at the corner of Bartlet and Chestnut streets during the summer.

The event is free and people are invited by the town to "grab your chair or blanket, tell your friends, bring your Nana,... picnic supper and, of course, bug spray. The concerts are pure fun for the whole family."

The series finishes up with a band called "60's Invasion" on Wednesday, Aug. 25, rescheduled from an earlier rain out this summer. Call the DCS info line after 4 p.m. in the event of inclement weather to check for rescheduled concerts, 978-623-8279.
