'Encounters with Cancer' seeks artists

A call is out for artists who are cancer victims, survivors or caretakers.

The Brush Gallery & Studios in Lowell are seeking artist submissions for the upcoming exhibit "Encounters with Cancer."

The exhibition is open to artists who are currently battling cancer, who have survived cancer or who are caring for someone with cancer. Artwork should reflect the artist's experience with this disease.

All two-dimensional and three-dimensional work is welcome.

Deadline for submissions is Sept. 10. Exhibition dates are Nov. 3 through Dec. 1.

In conjunction with this exhibition will be a series of talks by cancer professionals.

The Brush Gallery will be collaborating with Lowell General Hospital to raise funds for and awareness about the many free services LGH provides to cancer victims and their families.

Showing in conjunction with Encounters with Cancer and at the adjacent Lowell Telecommunications Corporation Gallery will be the Eli Lilly's Oncology on Canvas collection.

For more information or submission form, visit thebrush.org/EncountersWCancerExhibition.
