WEB UPDATE:Electronic monitoring for two charged in downtown pellet gun shooting

---- — Two Andover teens must wear electronic bracelets and be confined to their homes except for school or work after allegedly firing an Airsoft pellet gun into crowds of people in downtown Andover Thursday night.

Louis Correra, 17, of 8 Fairfax Drive in Andover, and Benjamin Warren, 18, of 24 Chester St. in Andover, both plead not guilty Friday to five counts each of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to Steve O'Connell, spokesman for District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett.

The two Andover teens are accused of driving a car by Park Street yogurt shop Orange Leaf, where one of them shot an Airsoft pellet gun into a crowd of around 30 people, hitting some, O'Connell said.

Police also spoke to two people who said they were shot outside Bertucci's, another restaurant on Main Street, by a vehicle matching the one involved in the incident at Orange Leaf, according to police reports filed with the courts. A pellet that hit one of the two people outside Bertucci's matched those found in Warren's car and his pocket, according to the reports.

While police were questioning Warren and Correra in a downtown parking lot, "Warren made a comment about 'Batman' and when asked to elaborate, he denied saying it and began to laugh," according to a police report on the incident.

After their arraignment Friday, Correra and Warren were released to their families on condition that they wear electronic monitoring devices and be confined to their homes except to leave for school or work, according to O'Connell. Additionally, they have to undergo mental health evaluations, stay away from the businesses, have no contact with the alleged victims and "take part in any treatment deemed necessary," O'Connell said.

Police are also looking for two other individuals they believe may have been involved in the incident, according to police reports.
