A killer tornado roars into south Oklahoma City on May 3, 1999. The storm, which also cut through Moore, Okla., killed 43 people and destroyed hundreds of homes in central Oklahoma. Winds in excess of 300 mph were among the most violent ever recorded.

Officer treated and released after injuries from Oklahoma windstorm
Enid Police officers investigate the scene near the intersection of U.S. 412 and 66th where a police car driven by Officer Lee Friesendahl was hit by an object on the driver's side, breaking out the windows of the vehicle. Friesendahl was transported to St. Mary's Regional Medical Center by Life EMS.
