Anne Arnzen was among 31 seniors to be named a President’s Fellow at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., for the 2013-2014 academic year. She received the honor for an exemplary academic record in anthropology after three years at the college.

Meghan E. Miller and Elisa M. Joel were among 1,613 students awarded degrees from Boston University in September. Miller received her doctorate in musical arts in woodwind performance. Joel received her Master of Education in policy, planning and administration.

Sophomore Katja Grober has been named to the dean’s list at Beloit College in Wisconsin for the fall 2013 semester.

Brianne Conlon, a student at Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, studied abroad in Dunedin, New Zealand, at the University of Otago for the fall 2013 semester. Conlon, a junior biology major, is a graduate of Andover High School.

Two local students at Union College in New York spent the winter break studying abroad

Barrett Flynn, a geology and environmental science major, traveled to New Zealand to focus on electric power development and environmental management.

Morgan Muggia, a neuroscience major, traveled to Argentina to focus on social movements, including human rights, workplace democracy and gender equality.

Patricia Collins, daughter of William and Maureen Collins of Andover, recently participated in the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine’s annual White Coat Ceremony, which formally recognizes the transition students make from laypeople to assuming the responsibility of physicians.

Alexander Cain received the National Italian American Foundation Intel Scholarship. Cain attends Hofstra University in New York and is majoring in computer science.

Amy Tanner has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester at Dean College in Franklin.

Four local students were named to the dean’s list at Providence College in Rhode Island for the fall 2013 semester. They are junior Kaitlin Mara, sophomores Kathleen McGinty and Michelle Ouellette, and freshman Nicholas Flannery.
