Guest speaker at LLL Preschool

LLL Preschool at 129 Reservation Road is hosting an open house and guest speaker on Monday, Jan. 13, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The public is invited to visit the school’s classrooms, meet the teachers and learn more about the preschool as it begins accepting applications for 2014-15.

Guest speaker Debra Nicholas, an Andover kindergarten teacher, will share her thoughts and experiences on kindergarten readiness and the benefits of a play-based preschool. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Whole Foods holding Kaleidoscope benefit

Whole Foods Market, 40 Railroad St., is donating 5 percent of net sales on Wednesday, Jan. 15, to the Kaleidoscope Scholarship Fund to assist more families with tuition this summer. Representatives from Kaleidoscope will also be at Whole Foods that day to speak with interested families.

Kaleidoscope, which is entering its 34th year, provides more than 170 courses in science, math, art, drama, music, computers and more to children ages 3 to 13. New courses this summer will include Baking Bonanza, Zentangle Art, Kaleidoscope’s Got Talent, Fashion Design Challenge, Drum Beat, Raising Roofs and Wood Works.

The program runs in three, one-week sessions from July 7 to 29. In addition, the KITE program for high-ability students in kindergarten through grade 8 runs from July 28 to Aug. 1. Open house at Andover School of Montessori

Andover School of Montessori is holding an open house on Tuesday, Jan. 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the school, 400 South Main St. in Andover.
