Shawsheen School celebrated Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss's March 2 birthday all week long last week.
In addition to an all-school assembly where students played a Dr. Seuss trivia game, other activites at the kindergarten through grade 2 choice school included Krista Galligani's kindergarten class dressing up as Horton the elephant from the Suess book "Horton Hears a Who," and students adding stripes to school's Cat-in-the-Hat hat.
"Each stripe lists the name of a student or staff member and a book they love to read. It is the biggest hat we have ever seen," reported Paige Holman, Shawsheen School librarian.
