Doherty Middle School counselors are welcoming new students with an invitation to "a special orientation meeting" on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at 10:30 a.m., at the Barlet Street school next to Town Offices.
School begins the next day, on Wednesday, Sept. 1. All students who arrive early on the first day of school should meet in the bus drop-off area behind the school to await first bell at 7:35 a.m. At that time, sixth grade students will report to the cafeteria while seventh and eighth grade students will go to the gynamsium. At these meetings, students will receive their homeroom assignments.
All students should arrive at school by 7:45 a.m. and report to either the cafeteria or the gymnasium to meet their homeroom teachers, according to the school
