How government works: Training offered by Legion Post 8

Andover students completing their junior year of high school can learn about government through a special program offered by the local American Legion post.

The American Legion Andover Post 8 is looking for candidates from Andover to attend the program “Boys and Girls State” this year at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. The program runs from Saturday, June 15, to Friday, June 21, and is open to students who are completing their junior year in high school.

“Participants learn the rights, privileges and responsibilities of franchised citizens. The training is objective and centers on the structure of city, county and state government,” according to a release from Post 8.

Students who are interested must reply be March 30. For more information, contact Kevin Bibeau at coach_bibeau@hotmail.com
