Joshua Allen of Andover High School is headed to the national spotlight. As one of the winners in the 2013 Congressional Art Competition, his artwork will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol building for one year.
Allen‘s prize included two complimentary airplane tickets to Washington, D.C. to participate in the national awards ceremony scheduled for June 26. He will also receive an artistic scholarship. He was congratulated earlier this month by U.S. Rep. Niki Tsongas at an artists reception in Chelmsford.
Andover’s Kevin Lee was a second runner-up in the competition.
