The Men’s Group at West Parish Church in Andover presented $500 scholarships to four recent high school graduates who are members of the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club.
The scholarship funds were raised through ham and bean dinners hosted by the men’s group.
Karen Kravchuk, Lawrence Boys and Girls Club education program director, attended the presentation to highlight the importance of the volunteers, who help serve the 500 children who attend the club every day by assisting with homework and providing guidance and mentorship to the older members interested in pursuing a college education.
The West Parish volunteers recognized were Dennis Klockow, Kelley Mahoney, Kim Glesmann and Jon Glesmann, who was named the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club 2012 Volunteer of the Year in December.
