Eight earn diplomas from Groton Academy

Eight students from Andover graduated from Lawrence Academy during the Groton school’s 220th commencement exercises.

Inez Bouzon, a high honors students, and was inducted into the school’s chapter of the national Cum Laude Society as a junior. She played varsity hockey and was on the Spartans 2011–2012 team that competed in the NEPSAC championship finals. She also played soccer and lacrosse. The daughter of Robert Bouzon and Caroline DeGroot, both of Andover, she will attend the University of Vermont.

Sarah Casey, an honors student for several terms, She performed with the school’s various vocal groups and presented a recital of her most recent work her senior year. She played varsity volleyball for three years, participated in the dance program and was a staff member for the student literary magazine, Consortium. The daughter of Anne and William Casey of Andover, she will attend Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania.

Hannah Cunningham, an honor and high honor student, played volleyball, lacrosse and tennis, and participated in the school’s dance program. Her poetry and articles were published in the Spectrum newspaper and the Consortium. She received her diploma from her mother, Dale Cunningham of Andover, who works as Lawrence Academy’s assistant director of communications. She will attend the University of Rochester in New York.

Brian Finn, an honor and high honor student, was a member of the school’s Model U.N. Club. He played football for four years and was on the 2009 team that went undefeated in the Independent School League and earned the NEPSAC championship title. He also skied for two seasons and played baseball. The son of Mary and Paul Finn of Andover, he will attend Boston College.

Madelaine Gray, an honors student, played varsity volleyball and was team MVP this year. She was also a captain of her junior varsity tennis team. A member of the student Association for Black and Latino Encouragement, she participated in the 2010 NAIS People of Color and Student Diversity Conferences in San Diego. The daughter of Deborah and Charles Gray of Andover, she will attend the University of San Diego.
