Kimberly Adams Whitworth was inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society at Salem State University. Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society for graduate students dedicated to promoting the study of history.

Two local students were named to the dean’s list at the University of Rochester in New York for the fall 2012 semester: Samuel Gilboard, a sophomore majoring in English, graduate of Lawrence Academy in Groton and son of Bruce Gilboard and Bethany Gilboard; and Brianna Rockwell, a freshman majoring in environmental sciences, graduate of Andover High School and daughter of Deborah Rockwell and Brian Rockwell.

Julia G. Quinn was named to the dean’s list at Bucknell University in Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Robert and Stacia Quinn of Andover and a 2012 graduate of Phillips Academy in Andover.

Nicholas Sievers was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Fitchburg State University.

Kevin DiPasquale was named to the dean’s list at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. He is a student in the College of Engineering.

Nicholas Burdeau, son of Steve and Liz Burdeau, was named to the dean’s list at Middlebury College in Vermont for the spring term.

Michael Benjamin, Casey Colbert, Mary Gavel, Tyler Gioacchini, Megan Horn, Naomi Kiangonyo, Diane Ladd and Thomas Pedulla were named to the spring dean’s list at Salem State University.

Alice A. Grant was named to the dean’s list at Hamilton College in New York for the spring semester. The daughter of Martha and Christopher Grant Jr. of Andover, she is a rising senior majoring in biology and a graduate of Brooks School.

Shannon Murphy received first honors at Boston University for the fall and spring semesters. Murphy, who will be a sophomore in the fall, is majoring in elementary education and math/computer science with a middle school math minor in the university’s Lynch School of Education. She is the daughter of Bill and Laurie Murphy of Andover.

The following students were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Endicott College in Beverly:

Olivia Deary Evans, a senior majoring in economics, daughter of John and Jennifer Evans; Taggart Sterling Muggia, a senior majoring in English, son of Robert and Melanie Muggia; and

Nicholas Anthony Sarno, a junior majoring in business administration, son of Daniel and Roseanne Sarno.
