2013 Graduates

---- — Katie von Braun of Andover, a 2009 graduate of Phillips Academy, has graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor with a bachelor of music degree in violin performance with honors with a minor in anthropology. She will be starting graduate studies in the fall at San Francisco Conservatory of Music to pursue a master of music in violin performance. She is the daughter of Christine von Braun and Curt von Braun of Andover.

Kristina Cappello graduated cum laude from the University of Tampa with a bachelor of arts in sociology and minor in psychology. Cappello is a 2009 graduate of Andover High School and the daughter of Doug and Gina Cappello. She was named to the dean’s list in fall 2012 and spring 2013; and was honored as the outstanding sociology major for 2012-13.

Cappello was also a member of Alpha Kappa Delta, an international sociology honor society; Psi Chi, an international honor society in psychology; Phi Eta Sigma, a freshman honor society; the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the Dean’s Student Advisory Council.

Caroline Lyle was awarded a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in women’s studies from Boston College. She graduated cum laude from the College of Arts and Sciences Honors Program. She is a 2009 graduate of Andover High School and the daughter of Henry and Barbara Lyle.

Richard F. Crispo graduated from Oregon State University with a master of science in electrical and computer engineering.

Olivia Deary Evans and Christopher Ryan Lippi received their bachelor of science degrees and Corey Wayne Frerichs was awarded a bachelor of arts degree from Endicott College in Beverly.

Five local students received their undergraduate degrees from Salem State University. They are: Victoria Kellman, Diane Ladd, Janet Muasya, Daniel O’Rourke and Tristian Shannon.

There were also five locals awarded graduate degrees from Salem State. They are: Andrew Bellistri, Caren Brown, Jennifer Darfoor, Hope Flynn and Mairen Marshall.

Jeremy Fox graduated from Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania with a bachelor of arts in psychology. He is the son of Harold Fox and Marcy Tannenbaum-Fox and is a graduate of Andover High School.

Bucknell University in Pennsylvania awarded degrees to the following students with local ties:

Abigail A. Cook graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts in sociology and Spanish. She is the daughter of Douglas and Amy Cook of Andover and a 2009 graduate of Andover High School. She was also named to the dean’s list for the spring semester.

Julie E. Ingram graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts in economics and Spanish. She is the daughter of Jeffrey and Jane Ingram of New York, N.Y., and a 2009 graduate of Phillips Academy. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa national honor society and Omicron Delta Epsilon international economics honor society. She was also named to the dean’s list for the spring semester.

Patrick S. O’Keefe Jr. of Naples, Fla., graduated with a bachelor of arts in environmental studies and political science. He is the son of Patrick and Edwina O’Keefe of Andover and a 2009 graduate of St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers.

David D. Chen received a bachelor of science in political science and Nicholas Sievers received a bachelor of science in history from Fitchburg State University.

David T. Hathaway received a bachelor of science from Furman University in South Carolina. He was also named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. He is the son of Janet and Stephen D. Hathaway.

Emily Karonis, Cheryl Robbins, Lan Tran and Jie Wu graduated from North Shore Community College in Danvers.

Leah S. Cairns graduated from Hamilton College in New York with a degree in biochemistry/molecular biology. She is the daughter of Jane Dietzel-Cairns and Glenn Cairns of Andover.

Leah Elizabeth McKnight received her bachelor of arts degree in behavioral neuroscience with a minor in creative writing from Colgate University in New York. Her senior thesis focused on the human visual system. She was active in the sorority Tri-Delta, was a member of the Colgate sailing team and ultimate Frisbee team and co-hosted a Colgate University radio show. She is the daughter of Robert McKnight of Andover and Helen McKnight of North Andover.

Jaime Morocco graduated magna cum laude from Babson College in Wellesley with a master’s in business administration. She is the daughter of Daniel Morocco and Tolby Lazerson of Andover and a graduate of Andover High School. She was offered an internship at Sephora in San Francisco, where she will be working in the marketing and customer relations divisions.
