Outsourcing of cemetery work fought
Ten of the town cemetery's 15 acres may soon be subject to maintenance by the lowest bidder, as a request for bids ends today, Thursday, according to Town Manager Buzz Stapczynski.

The outsourcing opportunity that could save Andover no more than $45,000 is opposed by some residents and the Spring Grove Cemetery's Board of Trustees because of the sacred nature of the 366-year-old town's only active cemetery. -

No income cap on senior tax work-off program
Any Andover resident 60 and older can receive a $675 break on their property taxes in exchange for community service - regardless of their income.
