Hackett's agency is 4 generations, 100 years old
Andover resident John Hackett Jr., president of J.J. Ruddy Insurance Agency, Inc., announced that the fourth generation, family business recently celebrated its 100th year in business.
Originally founded in 1909 by John J. Ruddy, the century-old insurance agency is one of a handful of companies to remain a family business for so long. Statistics show that less than 3 percent of all businesses make it to the fourth generation. Considering its 100 years in business, J.J. Ruddy Insurance one of the longest running multi-generational businesses in Massachusetts.
"Our success was defined be the generations before us", said Hackett. "My great-grandfather, grandmother and father defined the principles of our service delivery, which is the foundation of our company. My brother, Ed, and I focus on ways to continuously improve the service traditions that they established and build on their successes."
John Hackett Jr. is a 1992 graduate of St. Anselm College. Shortly after joining the agency, he completed an intensive training in property casualty insurance at the Aetna Home Office Training School. He later went on to earn the Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 1996. For the last five years he has served on the Agents Advisory Council for Travelers Insurance.
J.J. Ruddy Insurance services all lines of insurance coverage with a focus in property, casualty and risk management. J.J. Ruddy has locations in Winchester and Medford.
