Habitat opening 'ReStore' home improvement resale store

Anne Strong has joined Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity to manage the region's first ReStore.

The ReStore is a home-improvement resale store that will sell surplus and gently used building materials, furniture, home accessories and appliances to the public at 50 to 75 percent off retail prices. Proceeds from the store, at 4 Union St. in Lawrence, will benefit the home-building work of Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity.

Strong brings close to five years experience in both the resale industry and as a board member of Cape Ann Habitat for Humanity. She lives in Gloucester. More information on ReStore is available at mvrestore.org.

Founded in 1985, Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building homes in the Merrimack Valley. It has built homes for 71 families to date.
