Start Group named as ‘Pacesetter’

The Start Group, a specialized consulting firm located in Andover, was named to Boston Business Journals 2013 Pacesetters list. This list represents the fastest growing private companies in Massachusetts.

This is The Start Group’s second award recognizing its revenue growth. The other was being named to the INC. 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America.

The 2013 Pacesetters will be honored during breakfast event on April 25, where the rankings of these companies will be presented.

“Our hard-working employees have allowed us the honor of being included on this list. To be included with such other well-known, high-performing companies is humbling,” Start Group CEO, Mark Eldridge said in a release.

Fanikos named Senior VP of Salem Five Bank Counsel

David Fanikos of Andover was appointed to the position of Salem Five Senior Vice President, Bank Counsel.

In this role, Fanikos will be the primary contact for management and staff on all legal matters, responsible for assuring the maintenance of an effective compliance system and overseeing regulatory and security matters.

Fanikos joins Salem Five from Coady Law Firm, where he was a trial attorney and advised commercial and individual clients on a wide variety of matters. Additional prior legal experience includes employment with Boston-based firms, Demeo & Associates, P.C., Riemer & Braunstein LLP, Goulston & Storrs, and Peabody & Arnold.

Fanikos received his juris doctor cum laude from Suffolk Law School, where he was the editor-in-chief of the Suffolk Transnational Law Review. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University, where he also was a member of the varsity football team.

Fanikos served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer and served at various military posts in the United States and abroad.
