Police Log Incidents of the Week

The Jan. 26, 2012 print edition of the Townsman contained all arrests, thefts and breaks recorded in the Andover police log for Tuesday, Jan. 17 through Monday, Jan. 24. It also included incidents from the week. Some of these are below.

Saturday, Jan. 21 — At 8:19 a.m., a Haverhill Street man called 911 "because somebody was parked in his parking spot." Police informed the caller "police do not enforce parking spots."Moments later, the caller called back on the station's business line "requesting an officer speak to his neighbor." Police gave the caller advice.

Almost eight hours later, police received another call, this time a 911 call, from Bullfinch Drive from a resident reporting that "someone parked in his parking spot." The caller "was advised numerous times in the past that 911 was used for emergencies and this was not an active emergency." The caller then said he would "call back on business line."

Monday, Jan. 23 – Two men were arrested on Intersteate 93 northbound after a man followed them from an alleged house break into his mothers home and called police from his car. A police officer found the vehicle on I-93. It did not stop immediately, and state police were also involved inblocking in the vehicle, according to police.

ACCIDENTS (not included in the Jan. 26 print edition for space reasons)

Tuesday, Jan. 17 — At 2:50 p.m., a hit-and-run accident was reported on Minuteman Road.

At 5:28 p.m., a one-car crash involving a car and light post was reported on Essex Street. The car involved in the crash had to be towed from the scene.

Thursday, Jan. 19 — At 12:23 p.m., a hit-and-run accident was reported on Seten Circle.

Friday, Jan. 20 — At 6:21 p.m., a two-car crash with personal injury was reported on Shawsheen Road. Both cars involved in the accident were towed from the scene.

Saturday, Jan. 21 — At 8:25 a.m., a two-car crash was reported on Dascomb Road. No injuries were reported, but both vehicles involved in the accident had to be towed from the scene.

At 9:01 a.m., a hit-and-run crash was reported on Haverhill Street.

At 12:23 and 12:33 p.m., two crashes were reported on Central and Torr streets respectively. Cars were towed from both scenes, but neither involved personal injury.

At 1:29 p.m., a crash with personal injury to a minor involving airbag deployment was reported Essex Street. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The injury was minor.

At 3:10 p.m., a hit-and-run accident involving property damage — specifically damage to a fire hydrant and two mailboxes — was reported on Penni Lane.

Sunday, Jan. 22 — At 3:42 p.m., a two-car crash was reported on South Main Street. One of the vehicles involved were towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

At 4:42 p.m., a two-car crash was reported on Main Street.
