The Center at Punchard (The Center), 30 Whittier Court, Andover, closes out Senior Center Month this week with an open house on Friday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day will feature an expanded schedule of activities.
Representatives of many of the groups and programs offered at the center will be on hand from 9 to 11 a.m., and all are welcoming new members. Visitors can get the scoop on producing award-winning shows with The Andover Chroniclers, the center’s in-house cable group; become inspired by the artists, quilters and writers whose groups are based at the center as well as enjoy some surprise theatrical and musical performances.
The open house begins with a complimentary continental breakfast and legislative forum hosted by the Council on Aging advisory board from 9 to 10 a.m.
Fire Chief Mike Mansfield will present a “lock box” forum at 10:30 a.m.
There will be a buffet lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Tickets are $4, and advance purchase is required,
TRIAD will host an emergency preparedness forum at 1 p.m. to close out the event.

The Court and the Constitution: Thursdays, Oct. 3, 10 and 31 and Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m. Don and Mary Robb highlight what the Supreme Court has done to the Constitution over the years; $20.
Complimentary Mind-Body Medicine: Thursdays, Oct. 3 to Nov. 14, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Using the Relaxation Response, this course teaches individuals to use the power of their mind to decrease stress and improve health and overall well-being; limited to 15 people.
Historic Deerfield Village and Yankee Candle Trip: Tuesday, Oct. 8, 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; $66, includes admission and lunch at Chandler’s Restaurant.
