Alan Kravetz of Andover was appointed president and chief operating officer of LMCA, a company that builds strategic brand extension licensing programs.

Kravetz joined LMCA in 2007 and most recently served as its executive vice president. He has spent the last 25 years growing brands and monetizing intellectual property in the U.S., Europe and Asia, primarily through licensing. He previously served as vice president at The Cherokee Group, president of the Frye Boot Company and director of international sales and marketing at Rockport Company (a division of Reebok). He has also done consulting for Coach, Kevlar, G.H. Bass, Gore-Tex, Kenneth Cole, Thorlo and Kodiak, and has represented inventors as their licensing agent for a variety of goods, from medical devices to footwear technologies.

Kravetz earned both his undergraduate degree cum laude and Master of Business Administration from Boston University, and his law degree from Suffolk University School of Law in Boston. He is a member of Licensing Executives Society and International Trademark Association and is a frequent speaker on trademark licensing and strategy at conferences, trade shows and legal education seminars.

DRC benefits from $6B federal award

Dynamics Research Corporation of Andover, a technology and management consulting company for government clients, was one of 17 firms to receive a $6 billion blanket purchase agreement for the Department of Homeland Security Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation, Tools and Continuous Monitoring as a Service program. The contract to deploy continuous monitoring tools and services throughout the federal government has a one-year base period of performance and four one-year option years.

Under the contract terms, DRC will compete to provide a full suite of hardware, software and IT services as well as planning, solution architecture, systems development and training aimed at shifting government’s view of its cyber-security posture from a static snapshot to real-time information.
