LWV to host Town Meeting preview April 29
The League of Women Voters Andover/North Andover will hold the 2013 Andover Town Meeting Preview at on Monday, April 29, at 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall Library. Residents will have an opportunity to learn details about selected articles on the 2013 Town Meeting warrant.
Some of the articles to be covered include zoning bylaw amendments, establishment of a Senior Residential Community Overlay District and the Andover Transit Oriented Development District, acquisition of Reichhold land for conservation, and a number of public works projects. The preview will also address dispensation of the Wood Memorial Fund planned for the Special Town Meeting within Town Meeting.
Residents are encouraged to join town officials and others at the event and ask questions before Town Meeting. The agenda and list of articles to be previewed will be posted to www.lwv-andovers.org.

Body Image and Nutrition” talk
Psychologist Jodi R. Galen and nutrition therapist Amy Aubertin’s panel for Parent to Parent, “Talking to Your Child About Body Image and Nutrition,” which was cancelled by one of this winter’s snowstorms, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. at Pike School.
The discussion will help parents learn how to talk to their children about body image, counteract the idealized images in the media and emphasize healthy food choices without going overboard. Parents will learn warning signs of childhood obesity and eating disorders that may signal a need for professional attention. The talk is appropriate for parents with children and teens of all ages. Service Club’s annual Charity Gala, Auction
WBZ-TV sports anchor and celebrity Dan Roche will be a featured guest at the Service Club of Andover’s annual Charity Gala and Auction on Saturday, April 27, at 6 p.m. at the Andover Country Club.
The Emmy Award-winning Roche will bring his two decades of Boston sports coverage to entertain at the club’s annual fundraising event that supports the organization’s significant work in the area of youth and adults with developmental disabilities and other youth programming.

Memorial Day Parade plans set
Andover’s annual Memorial Day Parade will be held Monday, May 27, at 10 a.m. The route leads from the intersection of Elm and Florence streets to Main Street, to Punchard Avenue, then Bartlet Street, before ending at the park. In the event of heavy rain, all observances will be held inside Memorial Auditorium.
A collation for all parade participants will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Doherty Middle School.
