Alyson Formichella, a junior special education major, earned highly distinguished honors from the College of Charleston for the fall 2012 semester. Highly distinguished honors are given to students with a 3.8 grade point average or higher while enrolled in at least 14 credit hours. Formichella was also elected president of Phi Mu Sorority for 2013-14.

She is the daughter of Jill Penna and Jack Formichella. She graduated from Andover High School in 2010.

The following students were named to the Boston University dean’s list for the fall semester: Sara Bustos, Joshua Chevalier, Christopher Goodwin, Thomas Hubschman, Shawn Jin, David Keohane, Rebecca Long, Joseph Mcniff, Brian Mcquaide, Courtney McDonald, Nicholas Petrillo, Nicholas Schumacher, Syona Shetty, Michela Smith, and Elaine Wu.

Benjamin Harris was named to the University of Massachusetts Amherst dean’s list for the fall 2012 term with a grade point average of 3.94. To be placed on the dean’s list, an undergraduate student must have full-time status and attain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, based on at least twelve graded credits.

As an honor student, Harris was also invited to join the Alpha Lambda Delta national honor society.

Carolyn Ramm received a master of business administration degree in public management from Boston University.

Timothy Duffy, a senior majoring in accounting and information systems in the Pamplin College of Business, was named to the Virginia Tech dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester. To qualify, students must attempt at least 12 credit hours graded on the A-F option and earn a 3.4 grade point average during the semester.
