---- — Solicitor arrested for willful violation
A solicitor with an energy company was arrested Thursday, June 20, after attempting to sell his company’s product to an area resident, even after police told him to register first.
Brandon Best, 20, of Milton, was arrested on Canterbury Street at 1:42 p.m. and charged with willful violation of a town bylaw.
A Canterbury Street resident reported to police that a “male wearing a white shirt was at her door saying he was from Just Energy, but was asking her all kinds of personal questions.”
After police tracked Best down and informed him of town soliciting bylaws, a police officer saw him continue soliciting residents. He was then charged with willfully violating town bylaws, according to Lt. Lee Britton.
