---- — Boyle joins CPA firm as marketing officer
Matthew Boyle of Andover has joined Boston-area Alexander, Aronson, Finning, CPAs, one of the 10 largest public accounting firms in Massachusetts, as its chief marketing officer.
Boyle, who has worked in marketing and sales for three Fortune 500 companies — Steelcase, Compuware, and Dun & Bradstreet — most recently served as a marketing executive and partner for the Massachusetts accounting firm of Moody, Famiglietti & Andronico. He worked for that firm for nearly 10 years, and acted as the president and chief marketing officer of its affiliated Strategic Talent LLC from 2010 to 2012, a staffing company that provided temporary and permanent placement of accounting and information technology professionals.
Boyle has a master’s in business administration from UMass-Boston with a concentration in marketing.
Nichols on state CPA society board
The Massachusetts Society of CPAs appointed North Andover resident Mark W. Nichols, CPA, MST, MBA, to its board of directors for the 2013-2014 fiscal year. Nichols is president of Mark W. Nichols CPA PC in Andover. The board members were sworn in at the MSCPA’s Annual Meeting and Recognition Reception in May.
Fitness leader named tops in field
Art McDermott, owner of Matrix Strength & Fitness in Wilmington and the assistant track coach at Andover High School, was recently named one of the leading experts in his field by World Fitness Elite.
The organization recognizes leading health and fitness experts across the world, who are willing to provide information and education to consumers as a public service.
McDermott, CSCS, CISSN, USAW, is a certified nutritionist and certified strength and conditioning specialist. His private training center specializes in personal training, nutrition, fitness/physique transformations and sports preparation. He has been involved with strength sports for more than 25 years. He is also an author and speaker as well as an adjunct professor at UMass Lowell.
McDermott’s newest project, the Boomer Blueprint, is an effort to address the fitness needs of the more than 77 million baby-boomers at all fitness levels through the use of testing and customized workout program design.
