AHS grad Arnott is John Hancock Funds president, CEO

Andrew Arnott, a 1989 graduate of Andover High School, was named president and CEO of John Hancock Funds.

Most recently, Arnott served as executive vice president of John Hancock Investment Management Services, which oversees all third party and internal asset manager relationships across the John Hancock and Manulife investment platforms in the U.S. and Asia.

In describing Arnott's most recent position, Hancock Funds said, "This includes the selection, monitoring and ongoing review of more than 450 investment strategies managed by 80 of the world's premier asset managers. These firms manage more than $170 billion for John Hancock and Manulife products including annuities, mutual funds, college savings, retirement plans and insurance."

Since joining John Hancock in 1993, Arnott has held a number of senior positions. Prior to heading Investment Management Services, he served as chief operating officer of John Hancock Funds, and at various points in his career led Product Management, Development, and Marketing. He also served as director of Annuity Product Development.

Arnott holds a master's degree in finance from Northeastern University, and a bachelor's degree in business from Boston University.

He serves on the ICI Global Steering Committee and Closed-End Committee, as well as the Mount Mansfield Educational Foundation Scholarship Committee.
