The North of Boston Media Group, including the Andover Townsman, celebrates the release of its new coffee-table book, “North of Boston: Salute to Veterans,” with a launch party on Friday, Dec. 13.
Veterans, their friends and families and the general public are invited to the event from 9 to 11 a.m. at The Eagle-Tribune office, 100 Turnpike St., North Andover.
Veterans of all wars and anyone with an interest in the rich history of the North of Boston area can use this time to network, exchange stories and sign one another’s books.
World War II veteran Morley Piper will speak about his experience on D-Day, as well as his reflections on the war during his journalism career. Publisher Karen Andreas and Editor Tracey Rauh also will make remarks. Coffee and refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
“North of Boston: Salute to Veterans” features photos and stories from hundreds of local veterans from the Civil War through the most recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
People who have pre-ordered the book can pick up their copies at the event and there will be additional copies for sale at the discounted price of $29.95.
Copies of the “Salute to Veterans” book are also being sold at the discounted price at the Townsman office at 33 Chestnut St. in Andover. Books ordered by Dec. 16 may be shipped in time for the holidays.
