Andover Coldwell Banker teams up to give gifts
You can help by dropping off toys through Dec. 16
The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Andover, together with Bernie & Phyl's Furniture, is collecting toys as part of the annual holiday campaign to assist The Home for Little Wanderers during the holiday giving season.
They invite neighbors throughout the community to drop off new, unwrapped toys at the Coldwell Banker office, 305 North Main St., Andover, and all Bernie & Phyl's stores.
They are accepting donations through Tuesday, Dec. 16.
The home needs toys for children in ages from infant to 13 years, but also has an urgent need for gifts for the 14- to 18-year-old teens in their care.
To help meet the challenge of providing suitable holiday gifts for the teens, Coldwell Banker and Bernie & Phyl's are providing up to $5,000 in matching funds for all gift cards that are donated during the gift drive.
Some suggested places for purchasing gift cards are clothing outlets such T.J.X., Target or Wal-Mart, music stores and online retailers for items such as electronics, personal care and sporting goods.
Anyone interested in choosing a gift from a child's personal wish list can visit www.giftdrive-thehome.org.
People who don't have time to deliver a gift can shop from a general list on www.bigwishesforlittlewanderers.com and have the gift delivered directly to The Home's Toy Room free of charge.
"Each year, we ask our neighbors to join us in providing a happier holiday for the children in The Home's care, and they continue to be incredibly generous," said Cathy McCarthy, sales manager of the Coldwell Banker office.
"We do hope they will join us again to ensure that every child will receive a gift this year."
The Home for Little Wanderers is a nationally renowned, private, non-profit child and family service agency, providing services to thousands of children and families, through 20 programs.
The mission of The Home is to ensure the healthy emotional, mental and social development of children at risk, their families and communities.
With a history dating back to 1799, The Home for Little Wanderers is the oldest child welfare agency in the nation, and the largest in New England.
