The Trauma Intervention Program of Merrimack Valley is celebrating 20 years of community service at its annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet and Silent Auction fundraiser tonight, Oct. 18, 2012 at the Wyndham Boston Andover.
The group’s 19 TIP volunteers, along with first responders from area hospitals, police and fire departments will be honored “for their outstanding commitment and contributions assisting traumatized children and adults in the Merrimack Valley,” according to the organization.
One of those being honored is Andover Officer Evan Robitaille.
TIP of Merrimack Valley was founded by Andover resident Jayan Landry, who will also be honored.
As a 501 (c)(3) non-profit charitable corporation, TIP depends on the donations from individuals and corporations to pay for the essential and vital services volunteers provide to those suffering from a trauma, such as a sudden death in the family.
This year, TIP’s stated goal is to raise $10,000.
