---- — A visit from Julia Child courtesy of Delvena Theatre Company tops the highlights for May at Memorial Hall Library. The French Chef will visit the library at 2 North Main St. in Andover on Tuesday, May 14, at 6:30 p.m.

Lynne Moulton will portray Child in the live performance, offering a glimpse of her life from her privileged childhood in California when she had no interest in food except for eating what the family’s private chef prepared to becoming one of the culinary legends of all time. The audience will view Child on the set of her "The French Chef" TV show.

Delvena Theatre Company's past shows at MHL include "A Christmas Carol," "Lizzie Borden and the 40 Whacks" and "Where ‘Ya Been, Amelia?" The company was founded in 1992 and has performed at various venues, most often at the Boston Center for the Arts.

GENEALOGY APPS FOR MOBILE PHONES: Wednesday, May 22, 7 p.m. Genealogist Dick Eastman of Eastman’s Online Genealogy Newsletter discusses genealogy apps. Eastman has been involved in genealogy for more than 30 years and has been in the computer industry for four-plus decades. His newsletter is a weekly publication read by more than 75,000 genealogists around the world. Registration requested.

BOOKS IN BLOOM EXHIBIT: May 20 to 22. Members of Spade and Trowel Garden Club of Andover present an exhibit of fresh floral arrangements inspired by book covers.

CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH: Monday, May 13, 10 a.m. to noon. This group is for non-native speakers of English who have studied formal English and would like to practice their speaking and listening skills. New members welcome. Call Carolyn Fantini at 978-475-4602 to register.
