Saturday, May 18 — A woman from High Plain Road reported at 9:35 p.m. that her son, who is autistic, was missing. Police advised her of a service known as the Life Saver Project.

Andover police and firefighters assisted North Andover police and firefighters in locating and carrying an injured mountain bike rider out of Harold Parker State Forest at 10:24 a.m. The 28-year-old man had fallen off his bike and hit his head. Fire and rescue personnel carried the injured man on a backboard for about a mile to a waiting ambulance. He was then flown by helicopter to a Boston hospital.

Sunday, May 19 — A resident called to report two youths were walking down Osgood Street with a firearm. Police spoke with the youths, who were actually carrying an Airsoft gun in a guitar case.

A 44-year-old man was injured when a tree fell on him while he was cutting it down. Police responded to the 5:40 p.m. incident and took him to the hospital.

ACCIDENTS

Tuesday, May 14 — At 4:43 p.m., a two-car crash, with one car towed but no injuries, was reported on River Road.

Wednesday, May 15 — At 5:22 p.m., a hit and run was reported. Witnesses said a truck hit a car in a parking lot on Essex Street. A description of the truck and license plates were given to police.

Thursday, May 16 — A motor vehicle crash was reported at around 10 a.m. in front of Town Hall.

A motor vehicle accident was reported at 1:11 p.m. between a car and a tractor-trailer on River Road. Injuries were reported.

Two cars were towed from an accident at High and Hardy streets at 4:23 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Saturday, May 18 — An accident was reported on North Main Street at 11:15 a.m. with injuries. A car was also towed.
