Keller Williams assists Salem Animal Rescue
Associates with Keller Williams Realty in Andover recently donated their time to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day. Short for “Renew, Energize and Donate,” RED Day was created to unite Keller Williams Realty offices and associates in an international day of service to improve local communities.
As part of the 2013 RED Day effort, the Andover location of Keller Williams Realty chose to spend the day with the Salem Animal Rescue League, a nonprofit organization in Salem, N.H., established in 1992 to find permanent, loving homes for abandoned and unwanted animals in the region.
Keller Williams associates helped to paint, mulch, fill pot holes, do yard work and beautify the organization’s property. Their efforts clearing the field at the center will give the organization’s dogs more room to exercise, while other cosmetic improvements will allow the organization to make a better first impression with visitors, according to SARL Director of Development and Community Relations D.J. Bettencourt.
Since the first RED Day in 2009, Keller Williams associates have given almost half a million hours of community service through activities ranging from food and blood drives to cleaning up trash in public parks, revamping gardens at nursing homes, and rebuilding homes and a school for community members in need.
