BoomerVenture Campus, Andover’s program for the age 50-plus residents of the Merrimack Valley, is a community campus setting to get fit, relax or learn about the next phases of the boomer life and what Andover has to offer. The classes are held at the Center at Punchard, 30 Whittier Court, Andover. Registration is required.
Here is a look at what’s on tap this month:
BOOMER BLOW-OUT BASH: All are invited for a BoomerVenture Campus party on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be a picnic from 5 to 7 featuring the music of the The Jazz Disciples. Then from 7 to 9 p.m., rock on with the movie “Pirate Radio.” Meals cost between $5 and $8 and reservations are required.
BOOMER ZUMBA INTERVALS: Combine weight training and cardio fitness while dancing, Thursdays, through Nov. 14, 3:30 p.m.; $65.
BENDER BARRE: Challenging workout combining elements of Pilates, yoga and ballet to strengthen, sculpt and tone; ends with extended stretching and relaxation exercises. Thursdays, Sept. 19 to Nov. 14, 6 p.m.; no previous experience required, bring yoga mat; $50.
SERENITY YOGA: Gentle postures that open the body while quieting the mind; each class will include meditation; Thursdays, Sept. 19 to Nov. 14, 7:15 p.m.; $50.
PLANNING FOR MEDICARE — COUNTDOWN TO 65: Blue Cross Blue Shield leads this interactive seminar on health care coverage in retirement, including how to enroll even before age 65, Thursday, Sept. 19, 7 p.m.; free.
ZENTANGLE: Workshop on easy-to-learn art, relaxing medium for creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns; Thursday, Sept. 26, 6:30 p.m.; no artistic ability required; $15, includes materials.
THE COURT AND THE CONSTITUTION: Don and Mary Robb highlight what the Supreme Court has done to the Constitution over the years, Thursdays, Oct. 3, 10 and 31 and Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m.; $20.
