Charles G. Kalogeris, 89
METHUEN — Charles G. Kalogeris, beloved husband of Harriet (Kalogeropoulos) Kalogeris and a resident of Methuen, died on Saturday morning, Aug. 28, 2010. He was 89-years-old.

Born in Akovos, Greece, on Jan. 30, 1921, he was the beloved son of the late George J. and Irene (Pappadopoulos) Kalogeropoulos. Charles moved to the United States at age 10 and owned and operated a Grocery Store in Winthrop for many years with his brothers Peter and Arthur, prior to his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. -

Born in Charleston, W.Va., in April 1932, Dr. Lilly resided in Andover since 1971 with his loving wife of nearly 54 years, JoAnne. He was the devoted and loving father of Kimberly Curry of Hillsboro, Ore. and Susan Lilly of Watertown. He is also survived by his beloved grandsons, Oak and Wyatt; elder brother, James and his wife Sue of Milton, W.Va.; brother-in-law, Richard Mullins and his wife JoAnn of Salem, Va.; and five nieces and nephews. -
Andre A. Croteau, 88
ANDOVER — Andre A. Croteau, a resident of Andover for 51 years, formerly of Gardner, died at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Aug. 20, 2010. He was 88 years old.

Born in Gardner on Nov. 30, 1921, he was the beloved son of the late Desire and Lea (Belanger) Croteau. Andre was a graduate of Holy Rosary School, Gardner High School, and Fitchburg State College and was a World War II Army veteran, entering the service at Ft. Devens on Aug. 12, 1942 and receiving his honorable discharge from Ft. Jackson, South Carolina on Oct. 5, 1945. While in the military, Mr. Croteau attained the rank of Tech 4 and was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with five Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and a Certificate of Merit. -
Elsie E. Faris Mansor, 84
METHUEN — Elsie E. (Ead) Faris Mansor, 84, of Methuen, entered into eternal life, Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her loving and devoted children.

The daughter of the late Kalil and Mary (Ziady) Ead, Elsie was born in Lawrence on Aug. 10, 1926. She attended Lawrence schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She attended the McIntosh School of Business. She was employed as a secretary for Supreme Cleaners and during World War II, as a secretary at Fort Devens. After her marriage, she was a homemaker, raising her family, and was co-owner of Everybody's Market in Lawrence and Moray's Bakery in Salem, N.H. She was also one of the preparers of Arabic Food at the former Bishop's Restaurant in Lawrence. She was a very devout and active member of St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church in Lawrence. She was a member and past president of St. Anthony's Sodality, member and past vice-president of the daughters of St. Anthony, and a member and past president of St. Basil's Ladies Guild. She was a very active member of the former St. Laurence O'Toole School P.T.A. She was asked to co-chair, with her late husband, George Faris, the first annual Mahrajan, 39 years ago at St. Anthony's Church in Lawrence. She received the Silver Massabki Award from the Eparchy of St. Maron in 1998. She was a longtime volunteer at Caritas Holy Family Hospital. -

ANDOVER — Joseph Hervey Bernard, a lifelong resident of Andover and beloved husband of 52 years of the late Janice A. (Downey) Bernard, died at the Lawrence General Hospital on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010. He was 81-years-old.

The daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Garsechka) Kiezulas, Josephine was born in Lawrence on Aug. 13, 1917. She was educated in Lawrence schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1935. She was a graduate of the Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing. She received her Registered Nurse's certification from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. -

Viola was born on March 6, 1912, in Haverhill, the cherished daughter of the late Paul and Hedwig (Hofmann) Biggar. Vi, grew up in the Ballardvale section of Andover and was a graduate of the Punchard High School in Andover. Viola continued her education at the Burdett Secretarial School in Boston. Viola was a secretary at an Insurance Company in Boston for several years before she met and married Bernard P. McMahon on October 12, 1939. Viola and Barney made their home in Wilmington, where they also raised their two sons, Peter and Brian. - Thursday, August 19, 2010

NORTH ANDOVER — C. Joseph Sansone of North Andover, formerly of Boxford, passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 at the age of 88.

Joe was born and raised in Detroit, and was a journeyman tool and die maker in the automobile industry before joining the Army Air Forces in World War II, serving as a 2nd Lieutenant as a navigator and aerial weather observer. He later graduated from the University of Detroit with a degree in mechanical engineering, and worked for many years in the aerospace industry and other technical fields. His career ranged from the introduction of fiberglass fuels tanks for jet fighters during the Korean War, to participating in the development of the original stealth aircraft, the F-117 Nighthawk. -

WINDHAM, N.H. — Mr. Thomas F. Beggan, a resident of Windham, N.H., formerly of Andover, and beloved husband of Peggy (Mullin) Beggan.

Born in Boston on May 1, 1940, Tom was the beloved son of the late T.F. and Ethel Beggan. After being raised in Dorchester, he graduated from Boston College in 1962. Following graduation, Mr. Beggan joined the Navy and was on active duty from 1962 to 1966. He remained in the reserves until 1978 retiring as a Lieutenent Commander. He worked for the Gillette Company as a Division Manager of Production and retired in 2000 after 34 years.
