Dublin, CA — Raymond E. Lewis (Buster) died Nov. 21, 2013, at the age of 80 at the Kindred Care Home in Livermore, California. Ray was born in North Andover, Massachusetts on January 2, 1933, to the late Raymond Edward and Elizabeth Irene Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Judy Goen-Lewis and his daughters, Carol Ann Cohn and Irene Elaine Lewis. He is also survived by his grandsons, Aaron and Matthew Cohn and Canyon Lewis; his granddaughters, Misty-Dawn Sundseth and Iris LewisThorne and his great-granddaughter, Lillian Jules Sundseth. Buster was an avid fisherman and skin diver for most of his life and he was the President of the Richmond Pelicans for many years. Buster also enjoyed once a month gambling trips to Tahoe where he played blackjack and used the birthdates of his grandchildren to play keno. He was proud to say he often broke even. Buster was also a mechanical engineer who was incredibly handy. Every vehicle he purchased he made sure to convert to have a bed. Jean was born on April 2, 1945, in Bridgeport, CT, to George and Jennie Monroe, and grew up in Fairfield, CT, where she graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School in 1963. She was a 1968 graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, majoring in Spanish, which she subsequently taught for some 35 years, the first 27 at Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston, NH, and then for three years at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. In 2006 at age 61 she earned a Masters Degree in Education from Harvard University, after which she returned to teaching from 2009 until 2013 at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Jean was also a teacher’s teacher. For a number of years she presented world language teacher training workshops for the University of New Hampshire Continuing Education Professional Development program, and for many public school districts and professional organizations.Continued ...

David S. Palmquist, 75
Sequim, WA — David S Palmquist, 75, beloved husband of Carole Palmquist, of Sequim WA passed away peacefully on Oct. 21st surrounded by his family's love after a short illness. He was born on June 3,1938 in Rockport MA in the home of his parents, the late Edward and Ada Palmquist. Although he lived in other places, Rockport MA always held a special place in his heart. After graduating from Rockport High, he spent six years in the Air Force. He worked at Brown’s Yacht Yard in Gloucester MA for many years, where he earned the reputation as the “best outboard boat mechanic around.” He later worked at Ventron in Danvers. After marrying the love of his life, Carole, in 1970, they moved to Andover MA where they raised their blended family. After a work transfer led him to WA State, they began the next chapter in their lives. He loved crabbing and salt water fishing in his boat, doing woodworking projects and enjoying retirement. Dave will always be remembered for his desire to help others, his gentleman ways and his unselfish love for his family. In addition to his wife of 42 years, Carole, he leaves 8 children: Laura Laundry, David S Palmquist, Jr., Sherri Dunn, Denise McSheffrey, Wendy Spencer, Jeff Palmquist, Robby Spencer and Julie Lawrence, plus 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He also leaves 2 brothers; Roy and Norman Palmquist, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 sisters: Mary Fairweather, Edith Culbert and Ethel Palmquist; and one brother, Charles Palmquist.Continued ...
