Andover, MA — Suzanne Hosmer, born in Nyack, New York, passed away peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her family at the Merrimack Valley Hospice Home in Haverhill on the evening of February 19. Suzanne suffered a stroke on February 12, was transported first to Lawrence General Hospital and shortly after her arrival there was medivac’d to Massachusetts General Hospital where she spent 6 days in the intensive care unit. She developed complications, including pneumonia as a result of her brain bleed and swelling. She was transported to the Merrimack Valley Hospice Home in Haverhill for comfort and peace on the morning of February 19. She was 75 years old. A longtime resident of Andover, Suzanne was a school teacher until the age of 37 then focused life on being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a beloved wife to Edward Hosmer, endearing mother to 3 children, Melissa, Matthew (daughter-in-law, Kristina) and Stephen (daughter-in-law, Cara) and loving Grandmother to 7 grandchildren, Olivia, Ingrid, Kayla, Cole, Cameron, Cooper and Victoria. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Augustine Parish, an active liturgical minister, Catechumen and bible study leader. She enjoyed life filled with her faith, Tai Chi, movies, reading and spending time with her family and friends. The immediate family attended a private ceremony on February 21, at 3 p.m. Suzanne will be deeply missed and remembered by all whom knew her.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be a public memorial Mass at St. Augustine Parish, located at 43 Essex Street in Andover, on Saturday, March 8, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made directly to benefit St. Augustine Parish in her memory.
