ANDOVER — Stephen R. Landwehr, 61, of Andover, formerly of Hamilton for 30 years, died on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010 at home, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
Steve was born and raised in Minnesota before moving to Massachusetts to begin a career as a manager for Saab Automobile Co. He then went on to begin his second career and passion as a writer and staff reporter. Steve was a successful staff reporter for the Salem News, covering Ipswich, Hamilton, Wenham, and surrounding towns where he had become well-known for his featured articles called "Lives." He was a man of many talents, which included his love of cooking and gardening. He was also a gifted carpenter and shared a love of music with his wife, Camille.
He was the beloved husband of Camille Ducey-Landwehr of Andover. Son of Bruce Landwehr of Minnesota, and the late Susan (Tillotson). Loving brother of Mark Landwehr and his wife, Nancy; Marcia Peterson and her husband, Jeff; Christine Vargas and her husband, Jaime, all of Minnesota. Stepfather of Keith Ducey, Nicole Bausemer, and Michael Russo, all of Andover. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to celebrate Steve's life at Old Town Hall, 20 Main St., Andover, on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. Interment is private and under the direction of Doherty Funeral Service, Somerville.
