Belmont — Charles E. Levis Jr. of Belmont passed away on October 4. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (McKenney) Levis for 61 years; loving father of Donald Levis and his wife Tobi of Andover, Kenneth Levis of Andover and Linda Levis Ladd of Lynnfield; grandfather of Keri Beth McDevitt, Kristina Levis, Gregory Levis, Laura Levis, Sandra Levis, Jessica Ladd, Emily Ladd and Becky Ladd; great-grandfather of Jacob McDevitt; brother of Bruce N. Levis and his wife Judith of Sanbornville, N.H. and J. Lucille Dixon of Sudbury.
Dr. Levis was a lifelong resident of Belmont, attended Belmont High School, Dartmouth College and MA College of Optometry. He had a private optometry practice in Boston for 45 years. He was a member of Boston Rotary, the American Optometric Association, a Belmont Investment Club, and was a Belmont Town Meeting member. He was also an active member of Payson Park Church for many years. Late U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran World War II.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held at Payson Park Church, 365 Belmont Street, Belmont on October 27 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
